TRB Lightweight Structures is celebrating success at the Hunts Post Huntingdonshire Business Awards 2019 that recognise the district’s thriving businesses.

TRB was shortlisted for both ‘Medium Business of the Year’ and the ‘Business Growth Award’, which involved a detailed application, including a site visit, and was judged on the company’s innovation, market and staff development, strategic leadership and financial plan. TRB scooped the growth award and also went on to claim the most prestigious prize of the evening – ‘Business of the Year’ – selected by the judges from the category winners.

The Huntingdon-based company designs and manufactures new sustainable materials for use in lightweight structural interior assemblies for the rail and vehicle industries, developing transport solutions which reduce energy consumption and help the environment. TRB has a strong history of innovation and the scope of its work has increased significantly, leading to phenomenal growth over recent years, which is set to reach £50 million by 2026.

Richard Holland, managing director at TRB commented: “We are delighted to have won these awards and to be acknowledged for our commitment to innovation, the environment, our employees – with 20 % of our current staff in some form of training – and to our growth. We’re certainly excited for the future.”
