Sofitec completes its 50th delivery to Premium Aerotec

Sofitec has completed the 50th delivery of the fuselage structural parts set of the Airbus A350XWB that it manufactures for Premium Aerotec.

These are, specifically, the buttstraps, sewing angles and the door surrounding parts; all of them monolithic elements, entirely manufactured in composite materials.

In addition to these parts, Sofitec is responsible for the manufacture of the struts, intercostal keel beams and splice channel for Spirit AeroSystems; as well as the sole supplier of straps for this aircraft thanks to the current manufacturing agreements with Premium Aerotec, Spirit AeroSystems and Stelia Aerospace

This milestone takes place after having covered the delivery to Premium of more than 100 units of the A350XWB model, since the beginning of our participation in the program in 2016.

The current production rate is 9 aircraft/year, but the company hopes to raise it, driven by the upcoming start-up of its new facilities. This would increase up to 12 aircraft/year.

The A350 XWB is part of one of the most advanced aircraft families in aerodynamic design and operational efficiency. It enables a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions thanks to the manufacture of its fuselage and wings in composites and to the technology of its engines; as demonstrated by the recent launch of the new generation of aircraft A350-900ULR (ultra-long-range or ultra-long-haul).

The Sofitec team has managed to meet the delivery and quality standards required by the client, contributing to the sustainable growth of the company, as well as its consolidation as a specialised supplier in the manufacture of composites in the aerospace sector.
