Sharp & Tappin makes available a range of CNC composite plate saws for the production of test specimens and component parts.

A new addition to this range is its mini composite plate saw, which is ideal for test house and laboratory applications. The mini composite plate saw has a capacity of 300 x 600mm, with a cut depth of 30mm and blade size of 150 to 250mm. It is particularly suited to use alongside bench top test machines in a range of industry sectors. Sharp & Tappin’s composite plate saws achieve fast and accurate cutting of components with a superior surface finish. The machines are easy to programme, can be part-programmed to store the machining sequences for specific parts and will handle a diverse range of materials – carbon/glass composites, aluminium plate/honeycomb, thermoplastics, resins and hybrid materials. “We are excited to bring the new mini composite plate saw to market,” said Sharp & Tappin’s technical director, Ben Sharp. “The Composites Engineering Show at the NEC in November was the perfect opportunity to preview the product and enable us to demonstrate its advantages to both current and new contacts and we received a good deal of firm interest. We look forward to providing an easy and highly efficient solution for creating test specimens and sample parts.” www.sharpandtappin.com/compositeplatesaw/
