Oxford Advanced Surfaces, (OAS), a leader in the surface treatment of polymeric, plastic and composite materials by the application of highly reactive carbene chemistry, has announced the expansion of their global reach with new representation in China.

The new representative, Suzhou Composites, based in Suzhou City near Shanghai, will support the full range of OAS surface treatments including the new Onto EP1132.

The Onto range of surface preparation products have been developed to work with composites, as well as a wide range of engineering plastics. It is equally effective on materials that are difficult to bond or coat, such as PA (nylon) or PEEK. The products are available in spray and brush formulations, so are suitable for adhesive bonding or painting and lacquering applications. Onto is fit for use in both manual and automated processes.

Terence Warmbier, head of business development, Oxford Advanced Surfaces said: “We are very pleased to announce Suzhou Composites Co. Ltd as a representative of our products for Asia. They have more than 20 years’ experience of composites and great knowledge and technical capabilities regarding their local market.

“Developing the global network for our products is very exciting and allows us to easily share our products with the rest of the world. We look forward to developing a strong relationship with China and hopefully expanding across other countries.”

Suzhou Composite Material focuses on the development, production, import and export of a variety of chemical products and composite materials.

OAS Onto range has a variety of applications including automotive, marine, agriculture and energy. A spin- out from the University of Oxford, the technology, developed over a number of years, is unique as it allows for surface preparation without the need to etch or damage the materials.

The patented technology already has proven applications and is designed to utilise the maximum potentials of a variety of modern materials.
