This successful conference which is now in its sixth year of organisation will focus on current topics within the construction industry to highlight the use of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials in new and existing all-FRP structures as well as strengthening, refurbishment and reinforcement applications in traditional infrastructure. Taking place at Riddel Hall at Queen’s University Belfast from 10–12 September 2013, the programme contains over 35 papers from international organisations, including keynote speeches from Prof. Aftab Mufti, University of Manitoba, Associate Prof. Kent Harries, University of Pittsburgh and Prof. John Myers, Missouri University of Science and Technology. “It’s really exciting to be bringing the latest ACIC conference to Northern Ireland,” said Claire Whysall, event and network manager at NetComposites, “in particular the support from Queen’s University Belfast lecturer Dr. Su Taylor, who is heading up this year’s scientific committee, has been invaluable. The conference programme is as varied and as strong as ever so it’s set to be a great event.” The conference will bring together practicing engineers, asset managers, researchers and representatives of regulatory bodies in order to promote an active exchange of scientific and technical information on the rapidly changing scene of advanced composites in construction. Delegates are now welcome to register for the conference, with the full programme, sponsorship brochure and registration information being available on the conference website. www.netcomposites.com
