Composites UK to launch Aerospace Sector Showcase

In an effort to encourage knowledge transfer between OEMs/Tier 1 companies and the composites supply chain, Composites UK has announced the programme for its next sector showcase event looking at the opportunities and challenges of using fibre-reinforced polymer composites in the aerospace industry.

The event, which takes place on 6th December in the Knowledge Transfer Centre of AMRC with Boeing in Rotherham, UK, will cover four key topics: The Aerospace Industry - The Big Picture; Technology Strategy; Composites in the Aerospace Supply Chain; and finally, case studies from some Composites UK member companies already developing products and services for use by the aerospace industry.

Companies who are lined up to speak include Achieving the Difference, ADS Group, AMRC with Boeing, Composite Innovations, Composite Integration, GKN Aerospace Services, Heraeus Noblelight, Ipeco, M. Wright and Sons, Metrology Software Products, North West Aerospace Alliance and TenCate Advanced Composites. More speakers will be announced over the course of the next month.

“Our members asked us to provide more opportunities for them to ‘meet-the-buyer’ which has meant a natural progression of our sector showcase events,” stated Composites UK’s communication manager, Claire Whysall. “This is the first time we have focused on the aerospace industry and working with other associations and networks such as the Northwest Aerospace Alliance and the ADS Group has given us an invaluable link to the aerospace industry which our members can now feed into.”
