2013 has already proved to be a record-breaking year for epm:technology, proving the UK’s composites manufacturing is at an all-time high. Within the few days of the New Year, the Derbyshire-based company received a record breaking amount of orders, officially making it the most successful start in the company’s 16-year history. More than £230,000 in order value, a quarter of our order intake in this period arrived on one day. Owner and managing director, Graham Mulholland says the phenomenal start to 2013 is down to investment in training, technology, personnel and combined improvements in our existing practices to increase our capacity to existing and new customers. “A lot of doom and gloom is said on a daily basis that engineering and manufacturing is struggling to be consistent in the current economic climate,” said Mulholland, “but epm is proving that is far from the case. “2013 has been a phenomenal start for us and while we are reaping the rewards of all our hard work and investment over the past 18 months. My team is completely prepared for such a successful start to the year and long may it continue.” Having developed epm:technology into one of the UK’s leading composite component manufacturers able to boast numerous leading Formula One teams as clients, Mulholland is now planning to diversify into the aerospace industry. “We have honed our skills, expertise and practices over the past 16 years,” he added. “Extreme safety and precision are an absolute in the motor racing sector and the synergy between it and aerospace is clear. “A vast majority of our components are used on race circuits around the world, Derby has such a rich aerospace heritage, the synergy between our high performance engineering activities in motor racing and aerospace is becoming clearer so we are making moves to enable us to serve those companies within a stone’s throw of our Draycott technical centre.” www.epmtechnology.com
