Amber Composites has announced that its material has been specified for the primary structure of a major automotive build.

Prototype and homologation material has been supplied since 2011 and series production will begin in 2013.
As part of the project, Adler Plastics, a leading tier one automotive supplier, and Amber Composites have worked together to establish a supply chain able to supply mid-volume composite solutions to the automotive industry worldwide. The first vehicle, expected to be in production for at least five years, is viewed as a starting point for the companies. “We are proud to supply material for one of the first mid-volume automotive projects where the entire chassis is built from carbon fibre,” said Andrew Dugmore, sales director for Amber Composites. “Working closely with a tier one supplier like Adler helps us to develop the products and processes that the automotive industry requires.”
