Velocity Composites has welcomed Chris Skinner to its growing management team. Based in Winchester, Chris’s role supports the aerospace composite kit provider’s growing customer base in the south of England.
As Lancashire based Velocity Composites’ representative in the south, Skinner will work with a number of large strategic customers that are currently employing Velocity’s engineered consumable and structural material kits solutions. Skinner is an experienced project manager with a military background. In addition to commanding various sophisticated weapon systems units and unmanned surveillance aircraft operations, in his military career he was heavily involved in defence procurement and project management. More recently Skinner has been delivering successful technology and data projects in the financial services sector and running a UK asset management operations group. Darren Ingram, Velocity Composites’ managing director, commented: “Chris’s appointment is another positive development in the business’s significant growth. This is a key time in the aerospace market, and it’s important that we ensure that Velocity is able to support its customers, not only in managing the current programmes but also in offering cost efficient solutions to help them meet the challenges ahead. Having Chris join us is very exciting as it gives us a strong presence in the south and allows us to work far more flexibly.” Southern project manager Skinner added: “Joining Velocity Composites offers me a new challenge, and at an exciting time when the business is growing rapidly. I’m delighted to represent them in the South of England and look forward to playing a role in their expansion plans.” Velocity is currently on track to open a facility in the aerospace cluster in the south of England in late 2015. Skinner’s appointment follows the announcement last month that Ingram joined Velocity Composites as the company’s first managing director. In this role Ingram will lead Velocity through a period of expansion, overseeing the day-to-day management of the business. www.velocity-composites.com

Anyway, our landlord has deemed that with Spring now in the air, it’s time to turn off the heating and save money. This presents a challenge typing when I can’t feel my fingers.
