Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation will present a paper on its innovative dust-free epoxy tooling board, TC760X, at Composites UK Tooling and Design Manufacture webinar, which takes place online on Monday 7th September.

Kerry Lyons, business manager at Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation in Rochdale, stated: “As part of the paper presented at the webinar, I will be discussing how our TC760X epoxy tooling board is alleviating the need for large and expensive extraction during machining of tooling boards. TC760X is unique in that it does not dust during machining and can therefore be machined on any milling machine without the need for additional extraction.

“The surface finish you can achieve with TC760X is A-class, it requires virtually no downstream processing and because of the materials excellent toughness and durability, the tooling produced has minimal cracking and edge chipping, making it perfect for creating prototypes quickly and efficiently.”

TC760X is a medium temperature, low density syntactic epoxy tooling board engineered for durable, high temperature master moulding and direct-to-part tooling applications for a variety of industries. The material has a glass transition of +135°C, with a low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion resulting in faster curing and improved machining, to enable quick and easy direct-to-part manufacturing.

Composites UK is delivering a series of webinars entitled ‘Tooling for Composites’ over the course of three days from 7-9 September, with a presentations from industry experts and thought leaders. Webinars are open to both members and non-members.
