SL-Laser all set to light up JEC World

SL-Laser (hall 6, stand: A72) will present what it says is the fastest laser projection system - the ProDirector 7 at JEC World 2022 held in Paris from 3-5 May.

The laser is equipped with the latest electronic components laser diodes and scanners. The system is used for the exact positioning and alignment of workpieces. The positioning data comes directly from the CAD Software. The data import is IGES, STEP, PLY, SL, DXF and other specific formats. Drawings, contours, outlines or positions are displayed as a green laser line on the working area at a scale of 1:1. The data is imported into the SL3D software and displayed graphically.

In addition to the laser image on the working area, the user also has the information from the CAD about what is currently being projected. Important information as text can be displayed as a laser image and on the screen. By showing and hiding the assembly steps from the various drawing levels, each work step can be traced. This guarantees the execution of each individual work step.

This makes the work for the layup process and for the assembly of parts very easy for the operators. More quality and accuracy for each step that can be saved in a protocol. The lasers work as single or multi-head systems. For large applications, several systems are connected in series so that a large picture is created, or a rail system is offered.

The small ProDirector 7 is a perfect system for small and confined space. With the weight of 5.8kg the operator can use the system as a mobile system on tripod or fixes with a clamp on rips in the fuselage for example. The mobile system make sense if you have to remove the laser to different parts that are difficult to remove.

In addition, the system could be equipped with a battery if there is no power available near the application. Useful accessories are the remote controls with a display showing the layer name, the tilting fixture to move the system in different angles, certification tools and individual installation options.

Editor's comment: Weather with you

My work office feels unusually cold. As I type this, the BBC weather says it’s 10˚C outside. Hmm, is that typical for the end of April? Anyway, our landlord has deemed that with Spring now in the air, it’s time to turn off the heating and save money. This presents a challenge typing when I can’t feel my fingers.
