Scott Bader set to launch new products at JEC World

At JEC World 2019 Scott Bader (hall 6, M27) will launch two products: its new Crestafire intumescent FST system, and Crestapol 1270, a new premium urethane acrylate resin for SMC and BMC.

The company says it will also be introducing Crestamould, its new brand for its matched tooling systems.

Launched at JEC 2018, the Crestafire FST range has gone from strength to strength, and this year Scott Bader will be adding a highly innovative intumescent FST system. The new Crestafire system has EN45545-2 and HL2 (R1) approval ensuring it meets the stringent fire requirements for the rail industry.

Neil Gray, global market manager of FST Performance Products will be making a presentation about the new system at the JEC World “Composites in Action” conference, on March 13th from 14.30 to 15.00 in the Forum.

Scott Bader’s Crestapol resins are known to produce tough lightweight CFRP components. 2019 sees an addition to the established Crestapol family; Crestapol 1270 is a new premium urethane acrylate resin offering high performance for Sheet Moulded Compounds (SMC) and Bulk Moulded Compounds (BMC).

Other key products and services include: Crystic Ecogel ultra low styrene spray gelcoats, including the ‘zero’ styrene Ecogel S0 PA grade; Crestomer, Crestabond and Crestafix structural adhesives and bonding pastes; and its rapid GelTint service which can mix gelcoats in a wide range of RAL, BS, NCS and custom colours.

Visitors to the stand will also have the opportunity to see a Cobra Shelby supercar from South African company Backdraft Racing owned by former racing driver Tony Martin. The Cobras’ composite car bodies are completely built using Scott Bader resins, gelcoats and adhesive systems.

Scott Bader’s technical experts will of course be on hand to answer questions about all the products available and are looking forward to meeting visitors to this year’s JEC event.
