BAXT introduces new CARBONite sanding technology

BAXT claims its CARBONite sanding technology is the first ever abrasive material engineered specifically for the sanding of composite materials.

The product is said to be suitable for sanding both modern and more traditional composites, such as carbon fibre, glass reinforced plastic, and fibreglass reinforced plastic.

BAXT says the NANO ZrI0 ceramic grains are blended with a mixture of zirconium and aluminium oxide which cuts fast, stays sharp and improves production. Further unique selling points include the NsFC1 Super Flow Coating, which is claimed to repel dust, prevent clogging and guarantee smooth sanding.

Exclusive UK distributors, Direct Tool Company (DTC) continue to offer the entire BAXT range of consumables to its network of customers throughout the marine, aerospace and automotive markets.

“Our composite customers have been crying out for a performance abrasive that cuts composite materials fast and evenly. The trials with key accounts on GRP and CFRP have been very encouraging, and we expect CARBONite to be an even greater success story than WP10,” explained DTC’s sales director, Rick Wakeford.
