A new force in turnkey composite solutions has been announced with the formation of Forward Composites Limited.

Spearheading the new company are former Lola Composites’ colleagues Paul Jackson as managing director and Ed Collings as technical director. Embracing clear technical aims and visions, Forward Composites will bring together a core workforce of highly skilled and experienced people which will enable it to set out exciting business goals for years to come. The new firm will operate from Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire in the premises formerly used by Lola Composites, which boasts a full complement of plant and machinery, as well as extensive engineering and quality control systems. It is the intention to acquire AS9100 Rev C accreditation. Commenting on the launch of the new company, Jackson said: “We recognised at the start of this venture that its success would depend on the expertise and professionalism of our staff. We now have a workforce with the right blend of skills and experience to deliver high quality products and offer an excellent service to our customers, offering end to end capability. There is a real buzz throughout the whole team and motivation is high to get Forward Composites to the top of our target industries of aerospace, defence, automotive, communications and motorsport. To this end we have a great head start as we have already won a UAV programme.” Sharing Jackson’s drive and enthusiasm, fellow director Collings added: “Forward Composites will use engineering excellence to create the best possible business solutions for our clients. This means that every project we take on will be designed to find the perfect balance between all relevant considerations: performance, engineering, efficiency of manufacture, delivery time, aesthetic qualities, cost and more. We think beyond ‘how light can we make this’ and ask ‘how light does it need to be’ - and could we in fact deliver the full required performance in a more efficient manner.” www.forwardcomposites.com
