Wide range of unmissable events at METSTRADE show

The annual METSTRADE Show, the world’s largest B2B trade exhibition for leisure marine equipment, will take place in RAI Amsterdam on 19-21 November.

One of the key features will be the newly expanded Construction Material Pavilion (CMP), an innovation-driven platform for companies working with raw construction materials and composites. Highlights include Round Table sessions with leading speakers and the MaterialDistrict Pop-up showcasing the very latest yacht building materials.

Organised under the auspices of the METSTRADE Show, the CMP has been a major specialist platform in its specialised field since 2013. Having grown at a healthy pace for the past six years, it attracts thousands of innovative yacht builders, naval architects, interior designers and other marine industry professionals. In response to this ongoing growth in terms of both size and influence, the RAI has further expanded the floor surface area available to the CMP in the Elicium Centre. Already fully booked, the 2019 pavilion will host 66 exhibitors, six more than in 2018.

The Round Table at CMP

The CMP has also played host to Round Table sessions since 2017, dedicated to sharing and enhancing knowledge of boat construction techniques and materials. The 2019 edition will focus on the increasingly sophisticated use of materials and technologies, Speakers will explain the excellent results achieved in terms of performance, while looking at the structural challenges that high speeds can cause to a boat’s resistance.

The third edition of the Round Table will introduce the topics of slamming on the hull structures, the damages produced, the hull hydrodynamics and ways to discover the damages. Furthermore, the Round Table will address the topic how to improve composite design thanks to better failure understanding & Latest news on Recycling of FRP boats.

The Round Table offers a unique opportunity to meet professionals from marine industry engaged in research, design, production, marketing and service activities.

A direct way to get technical, technological and scientific information and updating on the main problems and challenges that designers and builders encounter when working with innovative materials to build ever faster and lighter boats.

MaterialDistrict pop-up

Another highlight of the CMP will be the MaterialDistrict Pop-up, a comprehensive three-day showcase of raw materials organised by the world’s leading matchmaking platform in the field of innovative materials. The theme of ‘Circular Beauties’ will be entirely dedicated to materials for yacht building and feature 16 partners and an exhibition of 120 especially selected new materials. The examples and references on display in the Holland Lounge will illustrate how intelligent, biobased and recycled materials can be both beautiful and luxurious.

Construction in Process Stage

Last but not least, another returning feature for the CMP in 2019 will be the Construction in Process Stage. This will showcase live demonstrations of production processes by Gurit, Diab and Wessex Resins, adding to the many attractions of joining your industry peers at METSTRADE 2019 in Amsterdam.
