As an associate member, Web will partner with aerospace component material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, first tier suppliers, and OEMs early during the design stage to determine optimum formatting processes for thermoset and thermoplastic materials, and for dry fibre, that cut overall manufacturing costs.
The announcement was made by Patrick Markert, Web Industries’ head of business development, Europe. Markert notes that Web’s acceptance as an associate member culminates a two-year process.
“In Europe, new aerospace programmes are typically carried out at R&D hubs like the NCC,” he stated. “To become a member, you have to show that you can contribute with knowledge and competence. Web Industries had to demonstrate to the NCC that we could help facilitate end-to-end process developments during the initial stages of programmes in ways that cut costs in order to gain associate member status. This is really a proud moment for Web Industries.”
