As part of URT’s commitment to reinvesting in facilities and staff, the Bognor Regis-based subcontractor has been developing bespoke training programmes to equip new staff with a range of industry-specific skills. With 70 new employees trained in six months, the company has been able to meet the demands of its growing business, whilst offering career paths to its workforce.
As a result, URT has recently been awarded the Arun Business Partnership Training and Development Business of the Year 2011. Furthermore, it was awarded Business of the Year and technical director Kevin Emmett awarded Employee of the Year for his role in the training programme. URT is now evaluating offering similar training courses externally in the near future, as part of its growing portfolio of capabilities and services.
