The AS9100 Rev D is the latest revised version of the standard which recognises that Tufnol’s methods, systems and quality control from the design and development stage, through to the finished product, fully comply with the standard.
All of Tufnol’s procedures and processes were examined as part of the assessment, including demonstration of material traceability through the supply chain, facilitation of continual improvement and increasing efficiency. Also included was motivation and engagement with staff at all levels as an important part of the overall evaluation.
Roy Thomason, managing director for Tufnol Composites, said: “We are naturally delighted to have met the requirements of the revised AS9100 standard, which is important for our business. This means our aerospace customers, which include those in the aviation, space and defence industries, can continue to have complete confidence in our operations and methods and that all products they source from us are fully compliant.
“This is also great news for our team, who have worked hard to maintain standards and ensure we met all the rigorous requirements of AS9100 Rev D. It also reflects our company’s total commitment to providing quality and reliability in everything we do for our customers, both in the UK and around the world.”
