Trelleborg unveils new eco-friendly dust-free tooling board

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the environment, Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation has unveiled its new eco-friendly dust-free tooling board, TC760X.

“Our TC760X tooling board is really unique in that is does not dust during machining; the board flakes rather than chips for a cleaner cut,” stated Kerry Lyons, sales manager for Trelleborg’s applied technologies global operation. “Less dust means less machine breakdowns, resulting in improved production efficiency and greater cost savings, all with reduced environmental impact.”

The TC760X epoxy tooling board material greatly reduces the amount of airborne particles created during manufacturing in comparison to traditional epoxy tooling boards, reducing the overall environmental impact.

Lyons, continued: “The TC760X requires virtually no secondary finishing or polishing before use, resulting in a truly A-class surface finish, that requires minimal sealing – just four coats as opposed to the traditional seven or eight normally required.”

Will Ricci, business development manager for Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation in the US, stated: “The TC760X board provides toughness without sacrificing the glass transition temperature (Tg). The material has a Tg of +140°C, with a low coefficient of thermal expansion resulting in faster curing, improved machining and the ability for quick and easy direct-to-part manufacturing.”
