The 43gsm TeXtreme fabric is based on a TC42S carbon fibre (intermediate modulus). The fabric to be presented at JEC is a prototype and will be undergoing application tests during the spring in anticipation of a product launch during summer 2012. This variant is designed for high performance applications where weight savings are of utmost importance. Oxeon has a flexible and tow size independent technology that enables development of ultra light composite reinforcement solutions tailor made for specific application needs. TeXtreme spread tow reinforcements are produced using novel spread tow and tape weaving technologies, rendering optimised spread tow tapes and spread tow fabrics that enable production of composite parts that are 20-30% lighter with improved mechanical properties.
