Shape Machining recently completed a series of polished aluminium mould tools for an automotive customer.

Peter McCool, managing director, said: “We are becoming quite accomplished at supplying, high quality, polished aluminium tools for carbon composite part manufacture.

“Polished aluminium tools are used for the manufacture of carbon composite parts where surface finish and quality are the most important factors. I’m pleased that customers turn to Shape regularly for these demanding, high quality applications.”

Shape can supply large aluminium, steel or Inconel tools up to 5m in length and 2m wide to suit a variety of manufacturing processes for the automotive and aerospace industries.

McCool continued: “Demand for aluminium and steel tools is increasing as composite parts are required in ever greater numbers. It’s good that Shape can respond to this demand and deliver such high quality metallic tooling so quickly.”
