Scott Bader has announced its Crestabond M7-05 and M7-15 structural adhesives have gained NK certificates in accordance with MED 2014/90/EU.

Scott Bader has announced its Crestabond M7-05 and M7-15 structural adhesives have gained NK certificates in accordance with MED 2014/90/EU for:


  • MED/3.1 – Primary decks covering

  • MED/3.18 a – Surface materials and floor covering with low flame-spread characteristics (a) Decorative veneers

  • MED/3.18 c – Surface materials and floor covering with low flame-spread characteristics (c) Floor coverings

Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, known as ClassNK or NK, is a ship classification society. ClassNK offers diverse technical services including the survey and classification of ships and marine structures based on technical independently developed rules, statutory surveys performed on behalf of more than 110 flag states, management system certifications based on ISO and other international standards, as well as other services to help safeguard ships, their crews, and their cargo, while protecting the marine environment.

With roughly 250 million gross tons or some 20% of the world’s merchant fleet on register, ClassNK is one of the world’s largest classification societies in terms of gross tonnage under class. ClassNK is a global organisation with a network of over 130 exclusive surveyor offices around the world.

This latest series of approvals further demonstrates Scott Bader’s commitment to developing and supplying industry leading adhesives. Previously Scott Bader’s Crestabond M7-05 and M7-15 have gained NK’s certificate of approval for applications involving the bonding of steel. Also for GFRP bonding applications, Crestomer 1150PA, 1151A, 1152PA and 1153PA have all gained NK’s certificate of approval.
