Sandvik Coromant say it can now offer its recently opened European Application Centre for composites machining as a resource for manufacturers looking to optimise the production of composite components.

Extending further its levels of support for European customers, cutting tool specialist
Located in Orléans, France, the new Application Centre supports European markets and serves as a specially-manned competence facility for customer projects that delivers complete processing, programming, testing and machining solutions for new or existing components – often with a business proposal for guaranteed output increase or cycle time reduction. Part of the company’s global network of Application Centres, the Orléans facility serves customers faced with drilling and/or milling applications in glass, carbon fibre and stacked composite/metallic workpieces. Solutions can also be tailored to different machine types. The facility houses many hand-held, power feed and fixed bed machining centres. The latter offers customers the benefits of CNC control, machining in up to five axes, vacuum workholding, an MQL application device and in-process measurement. www.sandvik.coromant.com
