Norco has appointed James Luby as the new production manager at its dedicated composites manufacturing centre.

Luby joined Norco in October 2018 as a project engineer and has been quick to make an impact in the business with his expertise and proactive attitude.

His professional career began at the composite manufacturer United Aerospace in Pembrokeshire as a production engineer. After three years, Luby moved to AIM Altitude as a CAD/CAM programmer. He swiftly progressed to CNC supervisor and then finally production engineer before moving to Norco.

“Coming from an aerospace background, James brings a wealth of production knowledge and high-quality standards to our Composites Centre,” stated Norco managing director, Mark Northey. “He will manage all aspects of the centre’s operations including all current and new production, production planning, procurement, scheduling and manufacturing engineering.”

The challenges and goals within the production manager role include, implementing a ‘continuous improvement’ methodology throughout the business, developing standardised processes and driving process improvement.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead, my primary focus will be to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget, whilst meeting the needs of our current customers and establishing relationships with new customers,” Luby (pictured) explained.

With over 35 members of skilled staff stationed at Norco’s Composites Centre, Luby will have the opportunity to implement his own processes and strategies to ensure the Composites division of the business is profitable and continues to grow.
