L&L Products announces new T-Link technology line

L&L Products announces new T-Link technology line

L&L Products has launched a new technology line called T-Link, an advanced engineering thermoplastic resin with excellent adhesive properties for ultimate performance and processability that help customers go beyond limits.

The vision since the beginning was to enable customers to benefit from both the adhesion properties of the resin along with the recyclability, repairability and formability of an engineering thermoplastic. This results in the reduction of process cycle times and allows for high-performing lighter weight applications.

“Some manufacturers use a lot of two-part epoxy adhesives that take many hours to cure and have long start-up and layup times. Here, we can successfully replace these often messy, two-part resin systems with L&L-developed one-component products that can be co-cured with their composite structure for reduced cycle times. Our knowledge and technology enable a faster, more cost-efficient process and often a product performance improvement,” said Brandon Madaus, Material Development Technical Specialist at L&L Products.

Due to its thermoplastic nature, T-Link conforms to deep drawn parts allowing for production of irregularly shaped components. Depending on application needs, L&L offers T-Link in several forms: resin pellets, film, yarn, powder, fibre veil and unidirectional composite/tape.

The film has been on the market since 2014 and has been an ideal matrix resin solution for several composite applications in the aerospace, armour, and sporting goods industries.

“Because of its compatibility with epoxy resin systems, T-Link is designed to enhance composite properties and impart high ductility, resulting in improved fracture toughness, and impact resistance,” said Jason Walker, Senior Product Development Engineer at L&L Products.
