Jorge Nasseh publishes new book on resin infusion process

Jorge Nasseh, a respected author of many technical articles and several books in the field of composite engineering, is launching the first edition of Processo de Infusão a Vácuo em Composites (Resin Infusion Processing in Composites).

As the recipient of numerous international scientific awards, the author draws on an extensive technical background, combined with his strong insight into the practical issues associated with state-of-the-art resin infusion processes.

The author relies on decades of experience in composite engineering, including several successful projects during the past years.

According to the author: “There is a difference between knowing a subject and understanding it. You can know physics by being adept at mathematics and knowing equations well enough to solve problems and still not have a deep understanding of the underlying reasons why things work.”

Nasseh specifies, in over 400 pages, the details of material selection for vacuum-assisted composite construction, the physics and history of the process, computer simulation and infusion strategies, permeability testing and calculation. The first edition of this volume is preceded by two prefaces: the first, written by Dr Scott Beckwitt (SAMPE global technical director), and the second by Marcio Sandri (Owens Corning global composite president).

According to Dr Scott: “It is with much pleasure that I have been invited to write the Preface to Jorge Nasseh’s latest book regarding resin vacuum infusion of composite structures. Jorge has had a long history of publications on the theory and practice of composite large laminated structures. Active since 2000 in providing very useful theoretical, yet extremely practical books with respect to resin infusion technology.”

Added Marcio Sandri: “Jorge’s fifth book is a pièce de résistance and depth, which took time and dedication to be a detailed and very useful dissertation on resin infusion as a process that dominates the manufacture of wind blades, high performance marine structures, aerospace parts, and many other equipment typically characterized by significant dimensions and critical usage responsibilities”

Jorge Nasseh is also the author of Boat Construction Manual in Composites, Advanced Methods in Composite Construction and Theory and Practice of Composite Construction. All books were written in Brazilian Portuguese.

Paperback copies are available at www.e-composites.com.br  (https://bit.ly/3bxa3Yf). Also e-book can be downloaded via Kindle Store (https://amzn.to/3d4mBZs) and preview at Google Books (https://bit.ly/3aIIj3D).
