Gurit wins new wind turbine OEM as customer

June 9, 2017

Gurit, developer and manufacturer of advanced composite materials, components and technologies, has announced it has won a major wind turbine OEM as new customer for its tooling business.

The new customer placed a first set of orders for wind blade mould systems at a total contract value of some £8.9 million to be produced and supplied in 2017.

Gurit’s tooling division is one of the largest independent manufacturers of wind blade mould systems worldwide. With manufacturing sites in Taicang, China, and Szczecin, Poland, production capacity currently amounts to some 60 wind turbine blade mould sets per year.

In addition, the Gurit tooling business also produces and supplies wind blade mould related equipment such as heating systems and lifting, turning and transport devices.
