Growing up together

In this issue of Composites in Manufacturing, we bring you our largest ever Composites UK’s Members’ Directory – a clear indication that the industry’s membership to the Association is growing.

As most of you will know, Composites UK is the accredited Trade Association for the UK composites industry, performing a sterling job of growing awareness in the UK and overseas of our strengths and capabilities in composites in the competitive world of global composites production.

Composites UK’s membership covers the whole supply chain, including manufacturers, materials suppliers, ancillaries, end users and research institutions across a wide range of applications and industries.

With a company membership that currently stands at over 350 - and rising - it’s proof, if proof were needed, that all the hard work undertaken by the Association by way of its regular events and conference activities, is paying off.

In under two months’ time, we’ll all be gathered at the Composites UK’s Industry Annual Awards Dinner, held during the Advanced Engineering 2018 at the NEC, Birmingham. From small acorns and all that, it has become the opportunity to showcase and celebrate what’s great in the UK in style, sharing stories of success across the sector – something we reserved British types haven’t always been very good at doing in comparison to our European competitors.

Now an important feature in the industry calendar, the Annual Awards Dinner has grown in leaps and bounds, in much the same way that the Composites Engineering Show - whose origins were originally rooted in the Aero Engineering Show - has grown to become the UK’s premier composites-related industry tradeshow.

As with the Composites UK Members’ Directory and its company membership, Advanced Engineering 2018 show attendances are rising too, largely due to the composites industry. The figures don’t lie – this industry is growing on you!
