ESI Group has announced it has joined the UK’s National Composites Centre as a Tier 2 Member. A cornerstone of the UK Composites Strategy, aimed at raising the UK’s industrial competitiveness in the field of composites manufacturing, it is also an important strategic partner for ESI, seeking to strengthen its ongoing R&D programme for virtual prototyping in the composites domain. 30 major industrial players in the composites sector currently make up the rapidly expanding membership of the NCC. “We are honoured to join the NCC and be part of the national strategy to support the British economy; strengthening its offer for the manufacturing of composites,” stated UK country manager, Maurice Linscott. “Partnerships and co-creation have always been at the heart of ESI’s vision and a reason of our success. We are therefore looking forward to playing a leading role in connecting academic research with industrial needs and actively supporting the simulation activities across the NCC.” Working closely with universities and industrials worldwide, ESI has developed an integrated solution dedicated to Composites Simulation Suite allowing the analysis and optimisation of each, individual, composites manufacturing operation. This solution is said to enable the prevention of manufacturing defects, substantial cost reduction for product development, and shorter lead-times.
