Engineering momentum

Planning for tomorrow, today is how Graham Mulholland, managing director of epm:technology group describes the culture and core values that underpin everything that his company focuses on. Our belief that every task requires planning and careful thought is paramount. This outlook has helped epm have their most successful year to date. This will be epitomised by our presence again at the Advanced Engineering UK event, which has created a platform on which the composite industry now has the opportunity to showcase itself like never before. To literally be under the same roof as some of the world’s leaders in the aerospace and automotive industries is a unique opportunity, and one we intend to take with both hands. Whilst it’s recognised within our own industry that epm:technology already leads the way in core composite component productivity, we have raised the industry bar to new levels with an operating CV boasting fully assembled structures and the management of fully programmed composite component projects. However, whilst such an event as Advanced Engineering UK enables you to share your practices and procedures with the world, epm has observed over the last few years there is a growing tendency by some of their competitors to list the names of their clients and approvals. We have been acutely aware for some time of the need for this to be confidential. After all, some of the components we’ve manufactured over the last 12 months - let alone the approvals that we’ve worked to - have not only made a difference for our clients, they’ve made all the difference. Our values and outlook do not allow us to verbally or visually tell these stories in public. To truly demonstrate this ethos as well as represent the vital importance of confidentiality to epm, we have created an exhibition stand that reflects this, focusing on our approach and how we do it. Talking the talk In business, talk is cheap; that’s why we prefer to let our customers do the talking for us. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t value the importance of raising awareness about epm:technology. A 30% increase in our marketing budget for 2013 is testimony to this. We have a philosophy of supporting our customers to achieve the very best results they can with their investments in composites. With an outlook, culture and values that are completely different to the rest of the industry, we believe this is a story that’s worth telling. epm:technology’s exhibition stand is very reflective of our main technical centre in Derbyshire. With space offering potential, as well as existing, customers the chance to relax and recharge as they learn more about our team, our values and our outlook. There is also the opportunity to engage with our highly-skilled engineers and technicians, share in our plans for future expansion, leading to increased capacity, capability and confidence. www.epmtechnology.com
