After almost a quarter of a century as a leader in the manufacture and supply of GRP (Glass Reinforced Polymer) grating, Dura Composites has launched a completely redesigned floor grating product range to the market known as d2 Dura Grating.

This grating offers an ideal performance-to-weight ratio, creating an ultra-safe walking surface that’s easy to install.

Extensively patent-protected and EU design registered, the d2 Dura Grating series consists of 10 brand new SKUs in standard, mini-mesh and covered formats in a variety of colours and thicknesses to suit all project requirements.

With the UK government’s pledge to boost funding and accelerate infrastructure projects in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, this new product comes at a good time.

d2 Dura Grating is more cost-effective than traditional GRP grating thanks to its design and composition - and offers a raft of enhanced safety features as well as savings of up to 14% less per m2 compared with previous generation GRP grating.

With the simultaneous launch of its new Operations Centre in East Anglia, Dura Composites has high stock volumes available for immediate despatch to meet even the most demanding project timescales.

d2 Dura Grating achieves an industry-leading Class B fire rating in accordance with the BS EN 13501-1 standard, making it suitable for a range of project installations where fire safety is an important consideration.

In achieving an independently certified Euroclass rating of Bfl-s1, d2 Dura Grating offers the market the choice of enhanced fire safety built right into the composition of the product.

Dura Composites’ high-specification composition has been rigorously tested (in accordance with BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013) and achieves ultra-low slip potential in both wet and dry conditions.

However, Dura Composites has gone above and beyond the standard testing procedure used by others and has invested further to ensure that test conditions for d2 Dura Grating simulated the effects of more than 3 months’ worth of pendulum testing, accurately assessing long-term performance and durability. That amounts to testing the equivalent of over 1.1 million real footfalls.

What’s more, at the end of the tests, the slip-resistance of the surface was proven to reduce by a mere 5%, making it the only serious contender for heavy-duty flooring in today’s demanding marketplace.

Although d2 Dura Grating can be applied in all industries where GRP grating is used today, it is particularly well suited to the Construction Sector thanks to its ability to comply with the requirements of the European Ball Falling test, its Class B fire rating and its ability to be manually handled with ease on site, speeding up installation time.
