Composites UK has announced it will partner with Harrison Goddard Foote (HGF) to deliver a workshop on IP and patents.

According to the UK government, the UK composites industry has large potential for growth and has been identified as a sector, which will benefit from changes in both global and domestic demand. With the world composites market set to rise by 50% in the next few years the UK composites industry is ideally placed to take advantage. This workshop aims to give delegates the right tools in order to put in place the necessary steps to secure their intellectual property (IP) and patents, as well as looking at how the process provides opportunities in terms of business protection, market leverage and tax benefits. Claire Whysall, communications manager at Composites UK said: “This is the second time we have paired up with Dr Moore at HGF to deliver this workshop, a partnership that formed naturally as he has extensive experience of providing IP advice to those in the composites industry. We wanted to run the event again because as the industry continues to grow there will be an increased need to protect new products and process innovation from both new and established companies.” The event will comprise of five sessions: Introduction to IP; Who Owns an Invention or Design?; Enforcing IP; Exploiting IP; and Using the Patent Box - each comprising of a short opening presentation followed by a question and answer discussion session. www.compositesuk.co.uk
