Composites Evolution has added another product to its successful Evopreg EPT tooling epoxy range with the launch of a 50°C, 12-hour cure tooling prepreg, allowing moulders to create tools with exceptional surface finish and dimensional stability.

What’s more, this specially developed prepreg has an extended out-life, allowing large or complex tools to be manufactured with minimal waste.

Responding to demand from its customers, Composites Evolution’s team of chemists and prepreg production experts have developed a tooling prepreg which delivers good tack and drape for easy lay-up, excellent release from patterns, high service temperature performance (180°C after post-cure) and excellent surface finish.

Sales and marketing director, Ben Hargreaves commented: “The launch of this new 50°C cure tooling prepreg is significant as it allows our customers to produce high-quality tools with the convenience of a shorter 12-hour cure cycle.

“Tools can now be laid-up and cured overnight, ready to be used the following morning. The low temperature cure ensures improved dimensional stability, while our proprietary resin formulation ensures that our customers don’t have to compromise on out-life.”

Composites Evolution’s EPT tooling resins are available on a range of carbon, glass and flax reinforcement fabrics.
