Bright Lite Structures makes Hitchings appointment

Bright Lite Structures has announced that Tom Hitchings had joined the company as director of business development and will work closely with Otto Ori, director of business development.

Hitchings, who was most recently head of business development of the global aircraft interior business of TenCate/Toray Advanced Composites, brings 20 years of experience in thermoset and thermoplastics in the aerospace industry.

Antony Dodworth, CTMO of Bright Lite Structures, said: “We are pleased to have Tom join Bright Lite Structures. Tom brings considerable knowledge and expertise of the use of fibre reinforced structures in the aerospace sector. I am looking forward to working with Tom to expand our activities in the commercial aerospace industry.”

Otto Ori, director of business development said: “We welcome Tom at BLS with his extensive knowledge and experience in the composites markets. I am looking forward to working with Tom to further develop these relationships.”

Hitchings said: “I have known and worked with Antony Dodworth for over eight years on advanced thermoplastic and thermoset projects. I’m excited to be able to help bring the advanced design and manufacturing expertise of Bright Lite Structures to the aerospace industry.”

Bright Lite Structures produces advanced, patented carbon fibre products for the aerospace, commercial vehicle, rail and automotive industries. Its patented recycled sandwich construction produces a carbon fibre component that is stronger, lighter, provides better insulation and is less expensive than monolithic carbon fibre.
