bigHead Bonding Fasteners says it has continued its investment in innovation with the appointment of Dr Lawrence Cook as development engineer.

Dr Cook joins bigHead from Cranfield University Enhanced Composites and Structures Centre where he was a Research Fellow in Composites Manufacturing.

During his time at Cranfield, Dr Cook worked on the design, manufacturing and mechanical testing of composites structures, in particular the joining of polymer composite and metallic multi-material structures.

Coupled with a background in industrial product design and adhesive applications engineering, bigHead customers will now have access to even more expertise as they face the challenges of multi-material joining through the increased use of lightweight composite materials.

On his new appointment, Dr Cook commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity to join the bigHead team and it presents exciting prospects for working together with customers and partners through long-term relationships and new engagements. I very much look forward to contributing to bigHead’s drive for innovation and excellence in developing fastening and joining solutions for composites, other materials and multi-materials in many applications.”
